Delphine Lamarque, born in Bordeaux in 1983, is a French multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Seignosse, in south-western France.

Graduate of the Studio Berçot fashion school, she has anchored her career in textiles, a medium that has accompanied her throughout her life and allowed her to explore materials and their history.
Her artistic identity has been shaped by a variety of experiences, including working as a set designer in cinema, creating second-hand boutiques, and designing a line of woven jewellery under her eponymous brand.
Over time, reuse became both an artistic gesture and a personal commitment.

In 2022, in the wake of the health crisis and driven by the desire for a more intimate project, she sold her jewellery brand and closed her second-hand shop to devote herself to an artistic exploration linked to her personal history.

She chose 1970s tent canvas as her medium, a symbol of independence and freedom. She sees these canvases, marked by the traces of time and whose seams conceal areas that have remained intact, as a metaphor for our existence.

Through this introspective work, she seeks a balance between past and present, where matter and emotion intertwine. Her work invites us to an immersive experience that is both joyful and nostalgic. She thus offers a sensitive reflection on time, memory — both personal and collective — and our intimate connection to material.

Research plays a central role in his approach. Each canvas is selected for its uniqueness. The quality of the colours, patinas, presence of labels... every detail is a tangible trace of what the material has been through and contributes to giving his works a soul.
Her creative process is guided by the material itself, with forms often emerging from the particular characteristics of the fabrics, which guide her movements, suggest volumes and impose a rhythm.

Her work questions the notion of shelter, both physical and mental. Her pieces reflect a quest for protection and comfort in the face of the elements, time and others.
She imagines a world where textiles would replace concrete, where flexibility would take precedence over rigidity.
A nomadic material by nature, textiles become for her the medium for a light, mobile architecture, in tune with the environment and the needs of those who inhabit it.
Inspired by alternative habitats that embody both resilience and raw creativity, she collects, assembles and reinterprets these forgotten fabrics, creating works charged with emotion.

Her creations weave links between memory, nature, autonomy and childhood. Tent fabrics, symbols of freedom, become the thread of a reflection on the essential.
